I am excited for movies once again

For anyone even remotely interested in fantasy epics, specifically Lord of the Rings, this news should make your palate shiver with delight. For the rest of us... well, let's just say that you might need a life.

The moment we have been waiting a very long time for has finally come to pass.... or should I say, the cogs of the now dusty J.R.R. Tolkien movie machine have started turning once again. Just today, a formal contract between Peter Jackson and Co. along with executives at New Line Entertainment has been made. Past litigation due to contract disagreements has been put to rest and everyone is on board to develop what is sure to become a worldwide phenomenon.

Following in the hugely successful wake that was Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson is set to direct and produce The Hobbit. Not only that, it has been decided that not only one, but two movies will be filmed.

Like me, I am sure a lot of you have fond memories of reading The Hobbit when you were a child. It was actually the first fantasy book I read growing up. In retrospect, after all these years, I am thinking I might have to go back and re-read it. Thank you Peter Jackson.
